Well, I figured it was time for an update. A LOT has been going on lately...well kind of. It seems like I have so much time on my hand and then by the time I know it, the day is gone. Life is but a vapor, lately I have been trying to manage my time better...when I find a good method...I will let you know =) hehe..all you mamas know what I mean...wither it is lists...calenders...planners...daily planners...alarms...ipod notices...text messages...it just done seem to work. I have to go off my brain...lol
Anyways, lets see....
We had a great CHRISTmas, had a total of 5 different ones.
We spent New Years with Aunt Janinne and Uncle RJ bc chris wanted to spend it with them and bc I had to be at their house for our annual Broxton Wives New Years Club meeting..yes, US broxton wives need our own support group!
Christopher's Birthday was this past month on the 10th. He turned 20 years old!! I am so thankful for a hard working husband who is a GREAT provider, Husband, and Father to our son! For someone his age he has such a GREAT work ethic! Speaking of work ethic, christopher did not make permanent on this round, but we are praying for next time, he did not make it bc there was a few people who had higher rank (longer worked). He is still going to school. He is taking a welding class at night. He LOVES his welding class!
Obadiah just turned 3 months this past month. He is getting so big. He is sleeping right now...he is normally a pretty good sleeper at night =) (why am I not sleeping...do not ask!) He has been in his own bed AND room since he was about a month and a half. He coos and smiles a lot. He as not laughed..but is almost there. When I last steped on the scale and then with him the difference was 12.6 lbs! I say he is "petite". He has grown a lot, even though he is as what others say "small". He is such a wonder blessing to have and we love spending the day with him. So thankful God has blessed us with this little boy. Children are truely a blessing.
I am 5 credits away from my Associates in Administration Office Support. I am not taking classes this quarter, I decided to wait bc the first of the year is always a little busy.
We started going to Jason and RJ's class on wednesday nights. We have been enjoying that class. Learning a lot and the teaching is great. We are staying encouraged. We started reading through Proverbs as a family. One chapter a day. It is amazing how much one chapter makes in a person's life--spirit and attitude. Obadiah enjoys listening to daddy or mommy read. He just smiles and coos. He espcially enjoys hearing daddy say "My Son..." (Several Chapters in Proverbs start off this way)!
My husband was talking to a man and the man asked him if being married made his walk with God harder or easier. It was such a blessing and encouragement to hear my husband say, My walk with God is easier bc I constantly have someone encouraging me daily, he said not a nag, but just someone to be there to ask questions and to encourage me. wow..what an honor. My mouth dropped and I started to tear up. BTW...it takes A LOT for me to tear up.
In my own personal devotions I have been working through Genesis..moving onto exodus with Janinne...we are accountability buddies. I have been also doing "research" on like a word or song. Normally, it is when something pops into my head. On facebookI try and share what God has shown me to try and encourage people. I figured if something encouraged me, maybe it would encourage someone else. The more and more I get into my Bible reading, the more and more I see things that "arn't right". I am more tender towards people and actually am saddened by what people do, or how they treat people.
We have reserved our room for the couples retreat coming up in Feb 19th and 20th! Really excited about that. It will be our first one!!
I am also going down to portland on feb 5th adn 6th for a scrapbooking convention =)
I am behind on some pics. I have been trying to post a few updated ones here and there. I believe this friday we will be having updated family photos. The ones up on our walls were taken right before Obadiah was born.
I hope everyone is doing well. If anyone wants to come over for dinner or get together with all of us or just with Bud and I during the day, please do not be afraid to say something, most people call it inviting yourself over/being rude, but I promise, I won't think that =)
I think I got everything..in the "quick" update..!! If not, you will hear from me again, I am sure!
Love you all!
